Approx. 4 hours per week @ £12 per hour inclusive of holiday pay. Fixed term for 9 months.

Baggator is seeking a Project Coordinator for our ‘Party Night’ Project. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in developing this project and we are looking for someone with sufficient belief in young people to help them gain the skills to organise these events for themselves.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills to work with staff, tutors and young people in a diverse community setting to establish a supportive framework that builds and sustains sufficient motivation to make this a dynamic learning project.

You will know how to work to a ‘Project Management’ model to provide a structured planning and learning process that recognises a business ethos. You will take a lead role to train the team in Business Skills and Event Management and will provide an overview that enables the team to develop a format that can run at a profit to provide funds to reinvest in future events and, to eventually, provide paid roles for young people in key positions. You, along with the team, will manage a small budget and be able to add the profit from events in order to track your income and expenditure and provide an element of reality to the decision making process. You will also be supported to raise additional funds to further the project.

Along with a sound understanding of developing a small scale enterprise and how to market it to the appropriate target group we will be looking for good IT skills (including word processing; spreadsheets; email and social media); ability to provide both written and verbal reports and confidence in teaching key skills to participants.

N.B.

This position will involve substantial access to children and is therefore exempt from Section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 by virtue of the Exceptions Order and appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
